Blind Bay Arts & Gifts Show Returns for July & August
By Celia Dyer
The folks at Blind Bay Community Hall are delighted to announce they will host their annual Arts and Gifts Show from July 10th to August 3rd at the Blind Bay Hall. The doors are open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Thursday through Sunday.
The show and sale features local artists and includes a variety of art media and gift items. Artists will be present to welcome visitors and to showcase their work. There will be paintings, cards, woodwork, fabric art, and much more. There is something for everyone, young and younger alike!
The show has been running for several years and has become a summer “must do” for locals and visitors. Vicky Ramsay, one of the coordinators of this year’s event, says that it started as a platform for people to share their talent and creativity through art. She says: “Every year, I am more amazed at the incredible talent in our community.”
Not only might patrons find a unique treasure, they will also be supporting the efforts of the Blind Bay Hall. A portion of sales will go back to the hall and participating artists pay a fee to enter the show. Artists will also be available to welcome visitors, and are more than happy to share their insights and enthusiasm for making art.
The show takes place in the Reedman Gallery on the lower level of the Blind Bay Hall; a beloved venue for local artists since 2013.
The depth and diversity of creative brilliance in our community is truly outstanding and the Blind Bay Arts and Gifts Show is one of several arts events to put on your “Celebrate Summer in the Shuswap” list.
